John T. D. O’Dwyer

John began practice in Ballyhaunis in 1968, having taken over as principal following the death of Patrick M. O’Dwyer.  He has over 45 years of experience as a solicitor and has grown the practice from small beginnings to where it is today. He has a broad knowledge of all areas of law.   In recent years he has specialised in representing professionals in difficulty.

John has been Coroner for South Mayo since 1974.



Evan O’Dwyer

Evan fronts our litigation team. He has nurtured a wide-ranging criminal and civil litigation practice specialising in road-related cases including defence of road traffic criminal prosecutions and civil issues arising out of accidents. Evan has a broad experience in commercial issues with a wide range of corporate clients. Prior to joining the firm Evan worked with a large city firm and the Competition Directorate of the European Commission in Brussels. He is regularly asked to contribute on national radio on topical road traffic law issues.

Evan is former President of the Mayo Solicitors Bar Association.



Laura Glennon

Laura joined the firm in 2006 having qualified as a Solicitor in 2004. Laura has a large and loyal private client practice. This begins with residential and commercial conveyancing but also extends to dispute resolution when called upon. Laura is also an Accredited Mediator. In recent years Laura has aided many of her clients in land and commercial disputes, injury claims and has also developed a substantial criminal law practice focusing on circuit court criminal trials.



Conor O’Dwyer

Conor focuses on Employment and Corporate Law. Prior to joining the firm, Conor trained with a specialised corporate law firm in Dublin. Today he uses that experience in advising his large portfolio of locally-based business clients. This involves dealing with banks, accountants, professionals, unions and other companies on an ongoing basis. Conor also assists business clients in both domestic conveyancing and other private matters.



Elaine Silke

Elaine served her traineeship with the firm having joined in 2007. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2010. She is involved in all aspects of the practice and specialises in private client, residential and commercial conveyancing. She provides legal advice in the area of drafting of wills, estate planning and administration of estates. Elaine holds a Diploma in Trust and Estate Planning from the Law Society of Ireland.
