Competition

Commerce and trade should take place in an open and free market. Competition law makes sure that those individuals or businesses who are harmed when the market is not free have redress. We have developed the know how to assist clients in issues of competition law. Among our most important cases are those involving:

  • A small commercial refrigeration reseller where a multinational refrigeration manufacturer failed to stop our client from importing directly from another EU country. This case is the leading Irish authority on parallel imports.
  • Private truck owners affected by a 14-year price fixing cartel by truck manufacturers throughout Europe in follow on litigation seeking redress in the High Court.
  • An accused person prosecuted by the Director of Public Prosecutions on behalf of the Consumer and Competition Commission (CCPC) in a landmark criminal trial before the Central Criminal Court arising out of an alleged bid rigging cartel involving the issuing of State contracts.

The representation we provide is independent and practical borne out of our uniquely acquired experience.
